Nextreme is currently seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team!
The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, with proven experience operating an excavator. Experience with other equipment such as loaders, telehandlers, and dump trucks is considered an asset.

Candidates MUST RESIDE IN YELLOWKNIFE, NT for the duration of the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate excavators with care, safety, and efficiency
• Generate and maintain daily walk-around inspection logs
• Perform routine maintenance (check fluids, inspect components, grease fittings, etc.)
• Clean and service equipment as scheduled or required
• Perform other related duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE:

• Over 5 years of excavator operation experience; experience with other heavy equipment is an asset
• Able to work independently to maintain and lubricate equipment, and refill fluids as needed
• Conduct thorough pre-operational checks on excavators and attachments
• Secure and operate with special attachments as required
• Understand and respond to standard hand signals used on job sites

REQUIREMENTS:

• Reliable and punctual
• Strong focus on safety and adherence to safe work practices
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Minimum 5 years of excavator operation experience
