About YKTrader Classifieds

YKTrader Classifieds is a web and paper based classifieds business that is locally owned and operated in Red Deer, Alberta. We are 100% owned and operated in Canada and proud of it.

Our Roots

Our idea to offer online classifieds was born in 1998 in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. A rough prototype website was built but because of the lack of available time and financing the idea was not fully developed and made live until 2005.

2005	The first classifieds site (YKTrader.com) was launched in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. The site was quickly adopted by the great people of Yellowknife.
2007	We launched a paper version of the classifieds (YKTrader Classifieds) to compliment the website.
2008	We launched a paper version of the community events and announcements (YKTrader Break Time) to compliment the website and classifieds paper.
2009	We relocated the head office from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories to Red Deer, Alberta to pursue expanding our Classifieds website and papers to Alberta.
2012	We re-launched Yellowknife's YKTrader.com with a completely new website and launched our Red Deer, Alberta version of our classifieds RedDeerTrader.com.

Our Mission

To provide local, safe, and easy to use classified services for Canadians which include online and print publications. Our number one priority is to our users and their ability to easily access and use our classified services.

Other Info

Our Classified websites are an environmentally friendly way to recycle your used and/or unwanted things. While we do charge a modest fee for select categories, most items can be posted absolutely free of charge. Registration is not required and it is completely free to view or reply to any ads on our classified sites.

We support non-profit organizations by allowing these organizations to post community events and announcements for free. *some restrictions apply.

While we specialize in local classifieds we also offer a local business directory, local restaurant menus and local giveaways.
